The Bible is under attack. Multitudes of books, reports, and news casts call into question everything we thought we knew about the Bible. How can we begin to address all these claims and questions?... Skeptics and Scholars How can you know it's God's word? It's merely the writings of people. The Bible has been changed over time. Parts of the Bible were discarded. Missing books of the Bible have been found Science has shown the Bible to be obsolete. Parts of our Bible are additions that don't belong. There's thousands of contradictions in the ancient manuscripts that have been found. Cults and Religions It's no different than our religious book. Our book is a continuation of it. Our book is from another prophet. God must be called Jehovah; you've translated Scriptures wrong. Traditionalists Only our translation is perfect. Other translations are from Satan. Our translation is better than all before it. It was good enough for the Apostle Paul, it's good enough for me. Churches We wrote the Bible and we can add to it. We have more books than you do. We have less books than you do. Tradition is equal to Scriptures Tradition clarifies Scriptures. God needs to be called Yahweh. Old translations have it wrong. Some passages are more important than others. Christian Mystics We have secret knowledge of what the Bible really teaches. I had an experience that revealed new truth. God revealed this to me. I am a prophet, you must listen to me. I am an apostle of God, you must obey me. Popular Culture The church has covered up the truth. It's just a story book. I can experience God apart from any book. Through this Divine revelation, we have been given God's message of salvation, without which the whole world would be without hope. It shouldn't surprise us that the Devil, whose only weapons are lies and deception, would attack the very foundation of our knowledge of God. The success of this tactic, in modern times, is borne out by statistics showing that former church attenders are those most likely to convert to Islam, Mormonism, the Jehovah's Witness or to outrightly abandon the church for rational skepticism or neo-paganism.
